Cynthia Bowers is the Founder of Phoenix Volunteers, a not-for-profit organization that promotes volunteerism and social stewardship. She is a motivational speaker, writer and is publishing her first book titled The Last Ordinary Life.

Cynthia‘s background includes Counseling and Human Relations Management in both for-profit and not-for-profit companies. She served five years working with the executive team at the largest family service center in Arizona where she was certified in counseling techniques and worked with homeless families. She spent nine years at two of the largest Phoenix-based technology Fortune 500 companies.

Cynthia left corporate America and founded Phoenix Volunteers in 2009. She was a recipient of the International Giraffe Hero Award in 2010 for her community work and was chosen as Women of the Year in 2011 by Clear Channel. Following her anonymous kidney donation to an 11-year old boy in 2008, Cynthia joined the board at New Life Society, an organ transplant advocacy charity.
